Haiti: The Myth and the Majesty(beginning in May and continuing into June with "Toussaint L'Ouverture").

Uplifting and re-thinking the Myth and Majesty of Haiti is the theme for
Creatively Speaking’s May Program. On May 15th and 16th the film series to
pays homage to this vibrant, resolute nation by showing When the Drum is
Beating by Whitney Dow, and Amour Infinity by Jerry LaMothe.

This while delivering a positive message chronicling the history of Haiti, while celebrating one of 
Haiti's national cultural treasures, the 62 year old band, Septentrional (Septen). This film is 
emblematic of the spirit of Septen’s amazing music, its passion for Haitian people, and the

Amour Infinity by Jerry LaMothe – 2001, 85 mins

Creatively Speaking is pleased to collaborate with ActNow Foundation’s “New Voices in Black 
Cinema” for the 13th anniversary of the release of “Amour Infinity” by Jerry LaMothe. The 
film tells the story of a single father, Derek, trying to raise a young son in a rough-and-tumble 
Brooklyn neighborhood. Derek has to face a tough decision -- stick with a relationship that's not 
working, for the sake of his son or take a chance on love? This exceptional narrative by Haitian 
filmmaker appearance
